HS player that intentionally hit an official may be allowed to play again

Should he be allowed to play?

Back in September of 2015, two Jay High School (Tex.) football players — Victor Rojas and Michael Moreno — came under national attention when video surfaced of the two intentionally hitting an official in the fourth quarter of a game against Marble Falls High School.

Both Rojas and Moreno were ejected from the game and later suspended from play indefinitely for striking referee Robert Watts, but it now looks like Rojas could potentially play football again. According to FOX 7 in Austin, Rojas may be eligible to play the 2017-18 football season pending he stay out of trouble.

The controversy originally caused quite the stir across the country, with the two players even making an appearance on Good Morning America in attempt to explain themselves. Eventually one of the Jay High School coaches took blame for the matter, and he eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault charges.
