Despite reported interest in the Los Angeles Rams opening, Jim Harbaugh is saying he's not interested in leaving Michigan.
According to ESPN's Jim Trotter, via 247sports, Harbaugh would be interested in heading to the NFL — just with the Chicago Bears.
"The Rams want a dynamic guy and they know in Los Angeles it's all about entertainment," Trotter said on SportsCenter. "Jim Harbaugh, from what I understand, the Rams is not a job he is looking at. If he were to come back to the NFL, from what I've been told, is that his dream job would be in Chicago where he started his playing career under Mike Ditka.
"People are going to take that as me saying he's looking to leave Michigan, but I'm not saying that at all. If you know Jim Harbaugh the competitor, you'd know he has unfinished business with Ohio State having not beaten Urban Meyer yet. But from what I've been told, Chicago would be his NFL dream job."
Harbaugh was drafted in the first round of the 1987 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears and played there for seven seasons.
The former San Francisco 49ers head coach spoke openly earlier in the week that he is definitively "not leaving Michigan."
"I'm not leaving Michigan," Harbaugh told the Detroit Free Press on Tuesday. "Not even considering it. A lot of this talk is coming from our enemies, from coaches, you know the names."
"We know them as jive turkeys," Harbaugh said on those leaking the rumors. "Say it like it is. that's the way it is."
Harbaugh took the Michigan job in 2015 after parting ways with the 49ers organization after an 8-8 season. He took the Niners to three NFC championship games and one Super Bowl during his four-year tenure as a head coach there.
