Johnny Manziel Named SEC's Greatest Player in Landslide Vote

If you ever really needed evidence on why Internet polls are not trustworthy, we've got just the poll for you!

The Tennesseean held a vote to crown the best SEC football player of all-time. From all looks, it was a well-setup bracket with a full six rounds and 64 players. The No. 1 seeds in the tourney were Tim Tebow, Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker, and Steve Spurrier.

Well, neither of those No. 1 seeds won the tournament. In fact, none of the No. 2 seeds — Derrick Thomas, Peyton Manning, Archie Manning, and John Hannah — did either. The winner of the vote was the No. 9 seed, Johnny Manziel.

Seriously?

In a clear sham of a final round, Manziel defeated Bo Jackson 94.9-percent to 5.1-percent. Even the Tennnessean admits that the ballot box was clearly stuffed in favor of Manziel, which is kind of a shame considering how great their original bracket looked.

As far as the voting, it looks like the first round actually made some sense. Manziel got a close victory over 2015 Heisman Trophy winner and former Alabama running back Derrick Henry. Sure, a lot of people won't agree with that, but Manziel had a fine college career and him winning that round is far from a travesty.

Then, every subsequent round gets more out of hand with the ballot stuff in favor of Johnny Football. In fact, it looks like the legitimate voters in the tournament just got fed up and stopped voting altogether.

In total, Manziel defeated Henry, Spurrier, Jack Youngblood, Reggie White, Hershel Walker, and Bo Jackson to win the tournament. Yikes.
