At this point, Michigan star Jabrill Peppers has garnered just about every possible comparison. The do-everything defensive standout has been discussed in the same breath as Charles Woodson since arriving in Ann Arbor and, by nature of his incredible versatility, it makes a great deal of sense.
However, this week's comparison for Peppers takes a little bit of bending, in that the converted linebacker was compared to... Beethoven.
The assumption is that the new comparison to Peppers was based on overall genius, but the point remains that it is an interesting parallel. In addition, Dan Murphy of ESPN spoke with John Baxter, who was Michigan's special teams coach last season, and he had this to say about Peppers and another potential three-way athlete in USC's Adoree Jackson:
"They're artists. Look at it like it's a guitar. Most of us can go to a guitar lesson and they'll teach us where to put our fingers on the fret and how to pull the string and then we can play a chord. Those guys hear it and play it."
Okay, got it.
Jabrill Peppers is going to play at least ten (yes, you read that correctly) positions for Michigan, and no player on the team's roster has received more effusive praise from Jim Harbaugh for his football acumen. At some point, though, Peppers is going to have to ascend into legendary status to keep up with the loftier and loftier comparisons bestowed upon him.
