Jerry Jones attempts to explain his Tony Romo decision but no one knows what he's talking about

Jerry Jones' bizarre remarks about Tony Romo actually make sense.

Jerry Jones has decided that, for now, Tony Romo will remain on the 53-man roster and not be placed on injured reserve.

But his explanation for how he arrived at the decision only made things a little harder to understand. Jones said this on 105.3 The Fan:

I don't want to rule out anything. I don't know that anybody is qualified to do that. Medicine basically gives you estimates and guidelines, and I'm not trying to be vague here, but there's no need to rule out anything...You don't have to spend a lot of time going over and kind of circumcising the mosquito. You don't have to do that over there on him because you look back over on the other side that caused you to make the decision, and there's nobody good enough to take that spot to give you a chance for that if he can come back.

Uh...right. He picked a really peculiar way of saying it, but Jones' point is actually spot-on. The Cowboys could have put Romo on IR to start the season, but that would have kept him off the roster till the midway point of the season. If there's any chance that Romo defies doctors' timetables and becomes eligible to return sooner than the expected 6-10 weeks, keeping him off the IR leaves that option open.

We're not exactly sure what all the circumcision stuff's about, but some things are better left untouched.
