Jerry Jones may be losing patience with one of his young stars

He was cautious, but pointed.

Ezekiel Elliot had one hell of a rookie year. His 1,631 yards made him just the fifth rookie to lead the league in rushing since the 1970 merger.

But Elliott has made news for two off-field incidents that call into question his decision making.

Elliott, already under investigation for a domestic violence incident, and, in the latest off-field encounter, was caught pulling down a woman's top during a  St. Patrick's Day.

Team owner Jerry Jones was cautious, but it seems as if his patience is wearing thin.

"There is not much that I want to say other than that was unfortunate and not good,'' Jones told Dallas.com. When pressed on whether anyone on the team has spoken to  Elliott, he said, "I wouldn't want to say on communication, but I'm aware of the incident and I'm aware of the criticism."

For all of his on-field talent, the off-field issues are an necessary distraction.
