Jim Harbaugh has a pregame ritual with his new starting quarterback and it is insane

Jim Harbaugh got together with his new quarterback for an all-time pregame routine.

Prior to 12:00 pm ET on Saturday, Michigan's starting quarterback was still an unknown. Jim Harbaugh elected not to announce his choice before the team's season opener against Hawaii, and while most of the media projected Wilton Speight as "the guy", no confirmation was offered in an official capacity.

Then, Speight began to warm up with the first team prior to kick-off and, well, the following transpired between Harbaugh and his new starting quarterback.

It is public knowledge that Harbaugh is not a conventional thinker, but this is hilarious in every way. The enigmatic head coach is known for his intensity both on and off the field, but Speight is probably terrified as this transpires and I'm not sure this is the best thing for his mental state.

In fact, the junior quarterback went out... and promptly threw an interception on his first pass attempt as the starter. Speight did settle down in short order, leading Michigan on a 98-yard touchdown march on the next possession, but perhaps Harbaugh and his signal-caller should adopt a new pregame routine.

This won't be the last time we see Jim Harbaugh do something crazy on the sidelines in 2016, but it was an amusing way to start the year.
