Jim McElwain confirms at least one candidate for now-open DC job

That seems like an easy choice.

As soon as Florida defensive coordinator Geoff Collins was hired by Temple, a ton of names were thrown around for potential replacements. One of the most common names that came up was that of current Florida linebackers coach Randy Shannon.

During his Tuesday press conference, head coach Jim McElwain confirmed that he would be taking a look at Shannon as a replacement.

A couple other names to pop up have been Alabama co-defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi and current Florida defensive backs coach Torrian Gray. The search for the next defensive coordinator at Florida should hopefully be a short one as there are plenty of good candidates in-house and out of the program.
