Jimmy Garoppolo sends out cryptic Instagram post amid trade rumors

What a bizarre sequence of events.

The will-they, won't-they that is the drama of the New England Patriots possibly trading quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo just got a good bit more interesting.

At 4:30 am ET, Garoppolo took to Instagram to say goodbye to New England...only he wasn't trade. And he reportedly isn't even close to being traded.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Patriots have been hesitant to move their quarterback-in-waiting, opting to keep him as a reserve behind the seemingly ageless Tom Brady.

That hasn't stopped the Browns from shopping the No. 12 overall selection, along with a host of other draft picks also including the second-round pick acquired in the Brock Osweiler trade salary dump.

Garoppolo is 2-0 as a starter, throwing for 690 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions in three years as a pro. He was a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft out of East Illinois.
