Josh Donaldson got hit in the head, bounced up like it was nothing

Toronto's Josh Donaldson took a pitch to the face, but what he did after was surprising.

Toronto's Josh Donaldson was beaned on the side of his helmet and cheek by a pitch from Kansas City's Kelvin Herrera on Friday night.

What looked like an instant broken bone turned out differently. After he was hit, Donaldson got up after a few seconds on the ground and appeared no worse for wear — well, sort of.

The reigning AL MVP didn't look like he was in a good mood after the hit — he threw the trainer's towel and his hat to the ground — but who would be after taking an 86 mph pitch to the face?

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Donaldson had no signs of any injuries.
