Kirk Herbstreit thinks this team will make it to the CFP despite slow and sluggish start

That's a bit surprising.

The Clemson Tigers have not looked great at all in their first two games of the year beating Auburn 19-13 and Troy 30-24. While the Auburn score is understandable with Auburn being a Power 5 team and one that might be underrated, the Troy score is absolutely inexcusable. The offense has been sloppy and inconsistent to start the season and that has cast doubt on their chances to get back to the College Football Playoff.

Deshaun Watson hasn't looked the same as he did last year, but there's plenty of time to change and ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit believes that too. He recently dropped his top five teams so far this season with Clemson in there and he got some questions about it. The first was if he thought the Tigers could still win it all. His answer:

He also thinks they've been "sleepwalking" so far this season and he wouldn't be wrong.

This team can't rest on its laurels because no team is just going to give them wins. Every team will be going after them this season and there is a huge target on their back since they got to the national title game.
