Kirk Herbstreit thinks this two-loss team can still make the College Football Playoff

Herbstreit is feeling it on this one.

There are some good two-loss teams in the country like LSU, Wisconsin, Florida State, Auburn and Oklahoma. However, most people would say that all those teams have little to no chance of making the College Football Playoff.

Not only does Vegas disagree with that as LSU has been given better odds to win the title game than undefeated Nebraska, Baylor and West Virginia, but Kirk Herbstreit does as well.

Wisconsin winning out will include wins against:

  • Nebraska
  • at Northwestern
  • Illinois
  • at Purdue
  • Minnesota
  • Big Ten Championship Game (likely Ohio State or Michigan)

That would give the Badgers an 11-2 record with wins over previously undefeated Nebraska and potentially Michigan. Their losses to Michigan and Ohio State would basically be forgiven if they got a revenge win over one of them and won the conference.

I don't see Wisconsin getting a win over either of those two schools if they meet in the Big Ten Championship Game, but maybe the Badgers will pleasantly surprise us with some good wins and cause some chaos for the Playoff Committee.
