While talking to the media during SEC Media Days on Thursday, LSU running back Leonard Fournette discussed last season’s meeting between LSU and Alabama.  Of particular interest was Fournette’s description of the hit he took on a kickoff return by the Tide’s Reuben Foster.

“It was the biggest hit I’ve ever taken. It really didn’t hurt, it was unexpected. It didn’t hurt at all. I didn’t see it coming at all.”

“I talked to Reuben, I told him nice shot, so hopefully I will get a chance to meet Reuben.”

After the Tide’s 20-13 overtime win over LSU, Nick Saban discussed the hit.

“It elevated our energy as a team, which I think kicking a field goal elevated it. That kind of energy and enthusiasm is contagious and really helps,” Nick Saban said after the game. “We didn’t have a lot of that in the second half today. I was running up and down the sidelines trying to create it, trying to get the coaches to create it, but we got it at the end and finished strong.”
