Les Miles' next visit could be an indicator of his next coaching job

Les Miles is set to make a public appearance soon and it might be one that peaks the interest of the college football world.

Les Miles is a free agent in the world of college coaching, but on Nov. 19, the former LSU head coach will be in attendance for a game... at his alma mater. Miles played under Bo Schembechler in the 1970's and he has been famously linked to Michigan at various times during his coaching career. With that in mind, Angelique S. Chengelis of the Detroit News brings word that Miles will be in attendance when Michigan plays Indiana, and he provided this money quote about the visit.

"I'm going to see if I can find my M jacket. It may be a little snug."

Because of his ties to Michigan (and various quotes within the piece above), many have speculated that Miles could join Jim Harbaugh's staff in some role in the short term and, on the flip side, he is also linked to many Big Ten jobs at a lower level as a potential head coaching target. Of course, this would not be the stealth move if Miles was trying to fly under the radar when it comes to his next job, but if he wanted to sit out for another full season from the head coaching life, the Wolverines could provide a soft landing spot with zero pressure.

Michigan might be trying to protect an undefeated season when the Hoosiers visit Ann Arbor, but a lot of people will have their eyes on the sidelines and the stands to monitor Les Miles.
