LSU gets bad injury update ahead of Thanksgiving game with Texas A&M

LSU plays Texas A&M on Thanksgiving.

LSU and Texas A&M is the sole FBS game being held on Thanksgiving, but the once marquee matchup will be without one of the top players in the nation.

According to 247Sports, running back Leonard Fournette did not travel with LSU to Texas A&M for Thursday's game. Fournette has been dealing with ankle issues all season, which have limited his action to just seven games on the season.

Even in those seven games, it was clear that Fournette wasn't at 100-percent for all of them. Fournette played last week against Florida after initially being ruled out, and that game only saw the star running back rush for 40 yards on 12 carries.

Once again, LSU will have to rely on backup Derrius Guice, who has performed well this season. At 964 yards, Guice will likely break the 1,000 yard mark against the Aggies, which will be an impressive feat for sophomore reserve.
