LSU gets great news ahead of big matchup with No. 23 Ole Miss

Big news for LSU.

No. 25 LSU is hoping to make a miracle run to the SEC title game, and their chances just got a lot better on Friday.

Interim head coach Ed Orgeron announced that star running back Leonard Fourentte has been able to practice all week, and that he will be able to start on Saturday against No. 23 Ole Miss.

Fournette has been battling an ankle injury that dates back to a sprain that he suffered in preseason practices. The injury has caused Fournette to miss three games this season, including LSU last two games against Missouri and Southern Miss. Despite being limited, Fournette has rushed for 386 yards and two touchdowns in three games this season.

Sophomore running back Derrius Guice has done extremely well in Fournette's place, and now the Tigers will have an even more potent offensive attack with Fournette back in the fold.

The return couldn't be more timely, as LSU has the toughest remaining schedule in the country according to ESPN's Football Power Index. After this Ole Miss game, the Tigers have an off week before playing Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Texas A&M in a row. The forced rescheduling of the Florida game because of Hurricane Matthew really put a heavy tilt towards the end of LSU's schedule.
