Georgia recruit pledges to SEC school just hours after decommit

This prospect wasn't untethered very long before finding a new future home.

Virginia Tech had an interesting day on Thursday. In the span of three hours, the Hokies dug a 24-point halftime hole against Arkansas, came back in earnest to grab a victory over the Razorbacks and lost a big-time prospect when ATH Malik Willis took back his pledge to attend the school. However, Willis' time period as an uncommitted recruit did not last long. In fact, Willis was untethered for less than hours.

The 6-foot-2, 188-pound prospect from Roswell (Ga.) is something of an intriguing prospect in that his collegiate position is very unclear at this point. There is some speculation that Willis could be entering Auburn as a quarterback prospect and, frankly, that would explain the (very) quick turnaround. However, nothing is concrete in that area at this time and the timing of all of this is very strange to say the least.

In addition to the pledge from former Baylor quarterback Jarrett Stidham (who is a much bigger "get"), Willis would provide another theoretical option at the quarterback position and that is helpful to be sure. Now, the multi-dimensional athlete will be taking his talents to the SEC and endless speculation can begin about what transpired over a three-hour period in late December.
