Michigan's top pass-rusher is ready to break out and his name is an all-timer

Michigan's top returning pass-rusher also has one of the best names in college football.

There are great names and there are great names. Taco Charlton falls into the latter category with a bullet.

The 6-foot-6, 275-pound defensive end was a terror for Michigan during the 2015 season, but with another off-season to improve his skills, Charlton is poised for a breakout in a big way. Josh Liskiewitz of Pro Football Focus previewed the upcoming season for the Wolverines, and Charlton filled the category of "breakout player to watch":

DE Taco Charlton played only 389 snaps last year, but finished with the country's highest pass rush productivity, and is clearly Michigan's most explosive player on the edge. He should see a significant uptick in playing time this year, and will benefit greatly from the considerable amount of talent around him throughout the defensive line.

Having the best pass rush productivity (an interesting PFF stat) in the country is noteworthy enough, but the analytically based site also includes Charlton in a group of "at least six" star-level players on Michigan's defense. The senior from Pickerington, Ohio isn't exactly a speed rusher given his ridiculous size for the position, but Charlton will form an incredible tandem alongside Chris Wormley, Ryan Glasgow, the nation's top 2016 recruit Rashan Gary and others.

No, Taco is not Charlton's given name (that is Vidauntae), but if he performs as well as many believe during the 2016 campaign, the talented defender will become a household name.
