Minnesota walk-on gets an Easter surprise from head coach PJ Fleck

That's one way to celebrate the holiday!

It looks like the Minnesota football team enjoyed a little Easter egg hunt earlier this week.

Rising junior linebacker Blake Cashman proved to be one of the best players on Minnesota's defense last year, recording 45 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks for the Golden Gophers in 2016. Despite that performance, though, Cashman was still a walk-on and did not have a scholarship from the university.

That changed this week.

As part of a spring practice treat, new Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck sent his players on an Easter egg hunt through the team's practice facility. Upon finding all of the eggs in the facility, the players opened them to find out that Cashman had officially been awarded a scholarship.

What a way to celebrate, Coach Fleck.
