Nation's No. 1 overall recruit adds another powerhouse to his visit list

Trevor Lawrence is a consensus five-star QB of the 2018 class.

It looks like the race for 2018's No. 1 overall recruit might not be down to just two teams after all.

Consensus No. 1 and five-star quarterback Trevor Lawrence (6-foot-6, 196 pounds, Cartersville, GA) seemed to be down to Georgia and Clemson for his college decision, but it looks like two teams might have forced their way into the situation. LSU will be getting a visit from Lawrence this upcoming week, but now it also looks like Alabama will be getting their own visit at the end of the year in the Iron Bowl against Auburn.

From Rivals.com:

Despite Lawrence's announcement of a Final Two, Alabama didn't stop its pursuit and now that effort appears to be paying off in the form of a visit. He currently sits atop the Tide's board at the position and will be a priority of the Tide staff during his trip.

Georgia has been long considered the favorite, but things got interesting on Tuesday when four-star quarterback Jake Fromm of the 2017 class signed financial papers with Georgia with the intention to enroll early. While Fromm a 2018 recruit, he would potentially be competing with Jacob Eason and Fromm with the Bulldogs.

The situation with Alabama, though, might line up a little better. The Tide do have dual-threat quarterback Tua Tagovailia committed for 2017, but you would figure that the starting job belongs to Jalen Hurts for the next two years. Having the option of Lawrence and Tagovailia competing once Hurts leaves, though, would be an almost perfect situation for the Crimson Tide.
