Lauren Holiday, former U.S national team soccer star, is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove a brain tumor.

Doctors found the tumor, which is benign, back in June. The most unfortunate part of her tragic news is that she's scheduled for surgery just a few weeks removed from giving birth to her and husband and NBA star Jrue Holiday's first child.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist was expected to give birth in October, but will have to will have to induce labor early to hasten her surgery.
Jrue Holiday has informed the New Orleans Pelicans that he will miss the start of the 2016-2017 NBA season to be with his ailing wife.
"My family comes before basketball," Holiday told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "I'm obviously blessed to play this game and be in the position I am in, but my wife is the most important thing in the world to me. She comes before anything else."
