Brandon Marshall finally speaks out on Geno Smith jaw-breaking incident

Brandon Marshall has Geno Smith's back, even if his other teammates don't.

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith was sucker punched last week, breaking his jaw and sending him to the sideline for 6-10 weeks.

Anonymous sources told different outlets Smith deserved to get clocked, but veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall is stepping up and putting his name beside Smith, via New York Daily News:

"I was sitting right there and I would say this without going into too many details because we've already moved past it: Geno Smith did nothing wrong," Marshall said on FOX TV Monday morning. "He did nothing wrong. ... And that's all I'm going to say about that because we have to move forward and I don't want to be a distraction to our team, but Geno Smith did everything the right way."

Why Marshall didn't stop this issue before it escalated to Smith getting clobbered is unknown, but it does help the quarterback's image that the receiver has come to his defense.
