The Dallas Cowboys' yearly Super Bowl aspirations have long relied on Tony Romo's health. If the Trent Dilfer is right, the franchise will soon rest on the shoulders of rookie fourth-round pick Dak Prescott.
After an electric preseason, Dilfer has seen enough to believe Romo might not ever take the field for the Cowboys again after Prescott gets going.
Dilfer then discussed a common comparison we've heard recently of Prescott to Tom Brady's work ethic.
As for what Dilfer has seen, it's specifically Prescott's peripheral vision that has struck him, as he noted young quarterbacks tend to have trouble throwing across their body to the opposite side of the field and generally have tunnel vision.
Instead Prescott has been extremely successful spreading the ball across the field. And he'll be matched up against a New York Giants defense that was dreadful against the pass last year.
If he impresses early, it might be tough for Jerry Jones and Co. to hand the keys back to Romo.
