Nick Saban doesn't think Alabama is currently "elite," but says one program is

Alabama opens its season September 2.

Alabama has plenty of work to do ahead of their opening-season matchup with Florida State if Nick Saban is to be believed.

Following the team's annual A-Day Game, Saban laid into his "adequate" team.

Whether it's just gamesmanship or Saban truly believes his team just isn't quite that good yet, Florida State fans should take this one as quite the compliment.

 

Alabama plays Florida State on September 2 in the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in what could be a historic tilt between the No. 1 and No. 2 team in the country.
