Nick Saban responds to the warrants out for his player’s arrest

Nick Saban responds to the arrest warrant issued for safety Deionte Thompson.

A warrant was issued for Alabama redshirt freshman Deionte Thompson's arrest following a brawl during spring break in Texas.

Alabama coach Nick Saban responded briefly to the arrest warrant, though he couldn't comment much on the situation.

"We are still in the process of gathering all the facts in Deionte's situation," Saban said in a statement. "He has been excused today to cooperate with law enforcement in this matter. Once we have a better understanding of what happened, we will make a determination as to what needs to be done in terms of the appropriate course of action moving forward.

Thompson redshirted his first year on campus before becoming a special teams contributor during his redshirt freshman season.

Thompson was a four-star safety out of high school from Orange, Texas. He was the No. 2 safety in the class of 2015 according to 247Sports.
