No. 9 QB Dakereon Joyner officially cuts his choices to two teams

Those are two odd choices it would seem.

The recruiting saga of Dakereon Joyner has been a very interesting one. The talented 2018 quarterback prospect from North Charleston (S.C.) revealed a top five on New Year's Eve and, since then, Joyner has done a very good job of keeping the public in suspense with regard to where he will be attending college and playing football.

Recently, Joyner let it slip that he has already made his decision, at least internally, but the plan remained for him to declare a top two in May, with a final decision to be announced publicly in June. For now, Joyner's timeline is right on schedule, as John Del Blanco of 247Sports brings word that the 6'2", 200-pound quarterback will be choosing between South Carolina and N.C. State.

Joyner's inclusion of the Gamecocks certainly does not come as a surprise, as many believe he will end up in Columbia when all is said and done. Still, it is very interesting to see N.C. State as the chief competitor against South Carolina and Joyner will be making one of these programs extremely happy.

It isn't every year that either South Carolina or N.C. State lands a consensus top ten quarterback but it appears that 2018 will be one of those years.
