Notre Dame uses jersey unveiling to announce scholarship for walk-on

Notre Dame takes on Boston College on November 21 in Fenway Park as part of the "Shamrock Series" between the two teams. On Thursday, the Fighting Irish and Under Armour unveiled some new uniforms to fit the occasion. During the presentation of the uniforms to the players, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly announced the awarding of a scholarship to walk-on Josh Anderson.

It's always nice to see this, as it is a token of how hard work can really pay off. Anderson, a senior, now gets a scholarship worth about $64,000.

As for the jerseys, they are... well, they are really green.

The new uniforms fit right in with the Green Monster in Fenway Park, I guess. The new threads also feature 11 breaks in the solid stripe on the helmet and the pants leg as a tribute to the 11 national titles that Notre Dame claims. Boston College will also be wearing an alternate uniform for the game, opting for a throwback-style jersey in the same vein as their 1984 jerseys that were worn by Doug Flutie.

The game will be the first football game at Fenway Park since 1968. The current series between the two teams is 13-9 in favor of Notre Dame, who has won the past four matchups.
