One four-star recruit says Alabama is no longer his leader

Whoa!

Anytime the Alabama Crimson Tide take the lead in recruiting a prospect, it isn't a surprise. That comes with the nature of being the best program in the country and, recently, Nick Saban and company reportedly sat atop the list for 2018 four-star cornerback Jaycee Horn.

Now, however, Horn is singing a different tune and he shed light on his recruitment to Chad Simmons of Rivals.

"South Carolina is leading for me now," Horn said. "It really happened over the last couple of days. I have just been thinking about things.

"I just have a strong relationship with T-Rob (Travares Robinson, defensive coordinator) and coach [Will] Muschamp takes time to talk to me over the phone a couple of times each week too.

"South Carolina makes me feel like I am a priority to them. They don't just talk — they show me how bad they want me and how bad they need me there."

Horn did not hold back in declaring the Gamecocks to be his leader, though it should be noted that Alabama seemingly remains in the mix. The 6'0, 174-pound defensive back from Alpharetta (Ga.) could see additional offers coming his way in the future but, for now, we know that South Carolina has taken the lead.
