The Chicago Bears received the early bad reviews on draft day by trading up one spot — from No. 3 to No. 2 — to select quarterback Mitch Trubisky, and in the process, trading away a parcel of picks to the San Francisco 49ers. Most analysts believe Chicago was bidding against itself because the Niners had no interest in the North Carolina QB.
Breathe easy, Bears fans.

Despite that questionable pick, the Bears didn't have the worst draft of the year. That honor goes to (drum roll) ...
... the continually moribund New York Jets, according to NFL.com.
The Jets received the lowest grade (C minus) for a 2017 draft that featured two safeties in rounds one and two, and then trading down several times to accumulate more picks and take nine players whose ceilings seem to be role players and back-ups. Outside of No. 1 pick Jamal Adams, the Jets draft has been met with a universal "huh?" with most recognizing the team is so thin on talent it simply needed warm bodies. At least the Jets got those.
