One of the most promising young playmakers in the NFL has retired at the young age of 28

His health comes first.

Jordan Cameron, one of the most promising playmakers in the NFL who is already a Pro Bowl player, has made a stunning decision.

Cameron told ESPN he's walking away from the game because he thinks too much about the health risks from concussions. Cameron has suffered four concussions in his career, the last one last September when playing for the Miami Dolphins. His injury woes limited him to three games last year.

Cameron, a 6-foot-5, 244-pound tight end, was drafted by Cleveland in the fourth round in the 2011 draft, and he saw his most success with the Browns. He was a Pro Bowler in 2013, when he caught 80 passes for 917 yards and seven touchdowns.  But it's also when he started having concussions, suffering one each in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

The Cleveland years would be the highlight of his career.  After his Pro Bowl season, he played one more with the Browns and two more with the Miami Dolphins, but in total, his passes caught (67) and yards gained (870) didn't match that one magical year.
