One prospect just received the best news possible ahead of the NFL Combine

He now has a chance to be drafted.

Former Pitt running back James Conner missed the majority of the 2015 season with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, but he defeated cancer and rushed for over 1,000 yards as a redshirt junior. Now, Conner is ready for the NFL Combine.

Conner received a clean bill of health from doctors heading into next week's combine.

Prior to the cancer diagnosis in 2015, Conner was the ACC's leading rusher in 2014 for the Panthers with 1,765 yards. After defeating cancer, Conner broke the ACC record for career rushing touchdowns last season.

Conner is likely going to be a second or third day player if he's drafted in the upcoming draft, but receiving a clean scan for the doctors will remove some doubt from teams regarding his health.
