One rising QB just threw for 450 yards, 7 TDs in half of his spring practice

All aboard the hype train!

Louisville's Lamar Jackson quietly became a phenomenon in the 2015 season, as the freshman quarterback took over the starting job for the Cardinals. Jackson gained attention for his lighting speed and quickness, accumulating almost 1,000 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns to go with almost 2,000 yards passing.

Louisville finished the season strong with an 8-5 record, and many people expect a lot of improvement from Jackson and the Cardinals in 2016. And judging by their spring scrimmage, they are getting that from Jackson.

Getting that from Jackson to the tune of 450 passing yards and seven touchdowns in the spring game... in the first half.

Those would be absurd numbers for an entire game, but for one half? Simply ridiculous.

Of course, there are some caveats. This was mostly against Louisville's second-string defense, and well... going up against anyone's second-string is going to be extremely helpful.

Still, Louisville had been hoping that Jackson would be the future for their team, and it looks like he might actually live up to the hype. We wouldn't suggest placing those Heisman bets just yet, but he is definitely an interesting player to keep an eye on.
