One team made history for a school and a conference in this week's AP Poll

They're making progress!

This week's AP Poll had a lot of shake ups and upsets after an insane weekend of college football. Several top ten teams fell and so the rankings had to reflect that and lost in all the chaos was one team making history by getting into the conversation at all.

Most people don't think about Troy University until they have to schedule a cupcake at the beginning of next season, but the Trojans are here to make history. By being ranked No. 25 in this week's AP Poll, Troy not only is ranked for the first time in school history —- they joined the FBS in 2001 —- but it is the first a team from the Sun Belt Conference has been ranked.

Troy got here by beating Appalachian State 28-24 who went into Troy's house undefeated in conference play. With games against Georgia Southern and Texas State left on the schedule, Troy only needs to beat one of them to win the SBC belt for the first time since 2010.
