The Carolina Panthers (1-3) are tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints in the basement of the NFC South.
After running through the NFC last season, before falling in the Super Bowl, the Panthers are off to a rough start and things are about to get worse.
The Charlotte Observer is reporting, along with missing top players such as cornerback James Bradberry, running back Jonathan Stewart and defensive tackle Vernon Butler, the Panthers will likely be without quarterback Cam Newton for a key divisional matchup Monday night agains the Buccaneers.
Newton, for the second time this season, was evaluated for a concussion after his contest with the Atlanta Falcons. The quarterback was diagnosed with a concussion and is in the proper protocol leading up to the primetime game.

If Newton can't go, the Panthers would rely on veteran Derek Anderson. In mop-up duty last week, Anderson threw for 172 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
