Report: Post-WrestleMania plans have changed for one of WWE's biggest stars

This could provide for some unique opportunities.

If true, this would be a big change for WWE's reported plans that would probably be for the better.

Original plans for WWE's upcoming "superstar shakeup" called for Roman Reigns to move to SmackDown Live on Tuesday nights, with former WWE champ A.J. Styles making the move the other way to compensate for that move. However, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the new plans for Reigns involve him staying on RAW after he defeated the Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 on Sunday.

Per Meltzer, the plans is still for Styles to move to RAW, while the New Day (Xavier Woods, Big E, and Kofi Kingston) could be heading to SmackDown. It's likely that more moves will come as well, but those are the most plausible roster-switches as of now.

SlamBuzz's Take

If Styles is moving, then SmackDown is going to need a replacement for him. They may not necessarily need a "top guy" to head their way after the recent NXT callup of Shinsuke Nakamura, but they should get a guy like Sami Zayn in return. Zayn is currently lost in the shuffle on RAW and it seems like he will only be more lost with Styles, Finn Balor and Seth Rollins all on the same show.

Speaking of Nakamura: if John Cena is really going to be gone until June or July, then Nakamura should become the top guy of SmackDown. Don't waste this opportunity, WWE.

Outside of that, the New Day on SmackDown sounds amazing. The tag team division on that show is just awful right now, and the New Day would add an entertainment aspect that would help out every team. Also, they're simply out of opponents, as they've faced everyone on RAW at this point; they could use some freshing up with new opponents, too.
