According to the Waco Tribune, Baylor offensive lineman Rami Hammad was arrested on Monday for felony stalking. The charge reportedly comes from a series of incidents, but mostly from a July 7 encounter that involved Hammad's ex-girlfriend.

A Baylor professor called 911 and reported Hammad had waited for his ex-girlfriend before the professor's class the woman was starting July 7, then continued to attempt to contact her, according to an affidavit for Hammad's arrest.
The woman told Hammad, a 21-year-old junior from Irving, to leave before she went into the class, but he waited for her outside, according to the affidavit. Seeing him waiting, the woman was afraid to leave alone and asked for the professor's help.
She and the professor left together, and Hammad followed them to the professor's office, where he began knocking on the door for several minutes, according to the affidavit.
After unsuccessful calls to Baylor athletics, the professor and student decided to call police, saying they feared for their safety, according to the affidavit.
The Tribune goes on to say — citing the arrest affidavit — that Hammad was informed to leave the woman alone after that July 7 incident. He was apparently informed of this again in another interview with police just four days later, and he was eventually arrested on Monday.

The woman also detailed past physical and emotional abuse by Hammad, and she claims that she had attempted to get Hammad counseling to help what she had perceived as mental health problems.The efforts apparently fell apart when Hammad would not agree to go to counseling on a regular basis.
The Tribune reports that Hammad has been suspended from all team activities.
This arrest comes after all of the problem that Baylor had suffered recently in a sexual assault scandal, where officials inside the school may have helped cover up assaults. The scandal caused head coach Art Briles to be fired and it spurred the resignation of school chancellor Ken Starr.
Hammad played in all 13 of Baylor's games in the 2015 season. He was projected to be a starter for this upcoming season at the guard position.
