Saturday's Georgia-South Carolina game could be moved to this location

Georgia and South Carolina are scheduled to play on Saturday.

Hurricane Matthew is causing several changes to the college football schedule this weekend, and it looks like the game that could be impacted the most is an SEc matchup between Georgia and South Carolina in Columbia.

According to DawgNation, it looks like the Georgia Dome has emerged as the favorite to host the game if it is indeed forced to be moved. While Georgia State is already scheduled to play in the Georgia Dome on Saturday, DawgNation reports that the Georgia State game could be moved up to accommodate a second game that day.

However, persons with knowledge of the situation say a scenario is being discussed in which the Panthers' game would be moved up to noon. Then the Georgia-South Carolina game would be moved back to 8 p.m. That would then build in enough time for the Georgia Dome staff to reset for the Georgia game

Neither school involved nor the SEC have released a statement on the game so far, but South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has insisted that she can't imagine the game taking place as scheduled.

This would be the second time a South Carolina was forced to move in as many years, as flooding in the region forced last season's LSU-South Carolina game to be played in Baton Rouge.

If the game is going to be moved, the two squads will need to act quickly. It is already Wednesday, and it seems like the conference is dragging its feet publicly with this game so far.
