Senior transfer is being denied release from Alabama

That doesn't seem very nice.

Maurice Smith has been trying to transfer out of Alabama for about a month now, but it looks like he has been denied that release. The senior defensive back has yet to land at another school yet and reports say that the Crimson Tide is being "uncooperative" in helping him get released.

From AL.com:

Senior defensive back Maurice Smith wants to transfer, but has been unsuccessful getting a release despite several attempts during the last month, sources told AL.com.

Smith, who was the Tide's first-team nickelback during the spring, is now going through an appeal process, according to sources.

The Texas native was a four-star recruit in the 2013 class and he has already received interest from a few schools who want to take him in. Smith will be a graduate transfer which means he will be able to play right away.

Alabama opens its season on Sept. 3 against USC at Cowboys Stadium.
