New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is undeniably the best coach in pro football. Where he stands amongst the best coaches ever is another discussion, though any arguments for him being No. 1 are certainly warranted.

On FS1’s Undisputed with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, the hosts were discussing Spygate, since Eric Mangini recently expressed regret for his role in the incident. Since Belichick was the captain of the ship, it’s only fair to want to use this against him when placing him on a list of all-time greats.

Bayless certainly used that against the Hoodie, saying he “can’t go greatest coach of all time” because of his role in Spygate.

“Why would the ‘greatest coach ever,’ why would he have to stoop to any of these things to gain that edge,” Bayless pondered. “That’s like rampant insecurity. If you’re that great, you’ll just say, ‘I’ll figure it out. I can beat you within the rules. I don’t need to cheat or even bend the rules.’“

Bayless staunchly defends Brady, even during the DeflateGate scandal so he may be something of a hypocrite.

If you weren’t already aware of that.
