Star NBA player apparently didn't know who Jason Kidd was

Well this is a new one.

Jason Kidd is one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game of basketball. Leading two teams to the NBA Finals, and playing a major role in a third trip, his legendary status will surely one day earn him a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Only four years removed from his playing days, Kidd is now head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks and there are few people out there that don't know who he is. Well, except for his budding young star, Giannis Antetokounmpo. In a breakdown of his journey to the NBA by Sports Illustrated's Lee Jenkins, Antetokounmpo gives some insight to the first time Kidd gave him some tough love.

"The first time Kidd benched him, Antetokounmpo was irate. "I was like, 'Let's see what this guy did in his career, anyway,'?" Antetokounmpo recounts, and called up Kidd's bio on his phone. "I saw Rookie of the Year, NBA championship, USA Olympic gold medal, second in assists, fifth in made threes, blah, blah, blah. I was like, 'Jesus freaking Christ, how can I compete with that? I better zip it.'"

Antetokounmpo has overcome a lot to reach the NBA, making him one of the NBA's most likable players, and this hilarious quote merely adds to the legacy that is Giannis.
