Surprising edge rusher breaks incredible SEC record

That's impressive.

Texas A&M's Myles Garrett has garnered a lot of national attention for his talents and ability to shut down an offense almost by himself. He is even projected as the top pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by many analysts, but it was one under-the-radar edge rusher who made some SEC history with his game last weekend against Kentucky.

Tennessee's Derek Barnett is now the proud owner of a new SEC record, not Garrett:

Garrett is currently at 4.0 sacks this season so it is unlikely he gets to that level unless he just has an absolutely monster game against Texas-San Antonio or LSU in the next two weeks. Meanwhile, Barnett has Missouri and Vanderbilt left to play against with the Tigers only allowing 11 total sacks over 10 games and the Commodores allowing 24 over 10 games.
