Did Texas head coach Charlie Strong just save his job?

Was this enough for Strong to keep going at Texas?

Will all the buzz that has gone around the past two weeks about whether or not Texas head coach Charlie Strong will be fired, he finally got another win to hang his hat on.

Texas upset No. 8 Baylor on Saturday thanks to a late field goal that gave Texas a 35-34 lead with less than a minute left.

Some shenanigans then happened on Baylor's ensuing drive, but Texas was able to get the stop to seal the upset over previously undefeated Baylor.

Was the win enough to keep Strong at Texas? That is yet to be seen, but Texas does move to 4-4 on the season. It's a bit downhill on the schedule now for Texas, and if they at least get to a bowl game, it might be enough to give Strong another shot next year. I mean, we are in the middle of his third season at Texas right now; things weren't going to turn around overnight.

Regardless, Strong has proven to be a great recruiter so far. Whoever is the head coach at Texas next year will have a very good shot at making some noise in the Big 12.
