Texas football officially has its next head coach after firing Charlie Strong for going 16-21 over three seasons. It was only a matter of hours until the Longhorns locked down their next coach as rumors had been swirling they were going hard after Houston’s Tom Herman.
Now, Texas has its man and has made it official:
And there will be an official press conference tomorrow to introduce him. Herman has gone 22-3 in his two seasons at Houston and led them to a huge Peach Bowl win over Florida State last season. Herman inherits a pretty young roster from Strong and is expected to get paid about $5 million a year with incentives in place to make over $6 million in his last year of the five-year contract.
