The preseason returns are in for Cleveland Browns quarterback Robert Griffin III: the team is far from being "set" behind center.

In the team's final preseason game against the Bears, Griffin was largely ineffective, scoring one touchdown in three non-impressive series.
The Browns lone score came on a four-yard run by Isaiah Crowell, which was aided by a short field that started on Chicago's 18-yard line.
Griffin finished his night 4-for-8 for 31 yards.
In total, Griffin has been hit-or-miss with the Browns, producing several big plays like a few deep bombs to receiver Terrelle Pryor. He's gone 22-for-38 for 313 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. His overall rating: 100.0. His rating without the big plays, he's a meager 45.1.
It's a good thing the Browns kept last year's starter and current backup Josh McCown on the roster. McCown started eight games last season, completing nearly 64 percent of his passes while tossing 14 touchdowns against four interceptions with QB rating of 93.3.
McCown has been equally unimpressive in the preseason with limited time, though. He completed just 51.4 percent of his passes on 37 attempts with no touchdowns and one interception.
Still, it stands to reason that if the offense stalls with Griffin under center, McCown may be called upon to step in.
