Three HS football players facing charges for despicable hazing incident

I guess it isn't too shocking that something called "No Gay Thursday" went awry.

Three 17 year old high school football players at Conestoga High School in Pennsylvania have been charged in connection to an alleged hazing incident that dates back to October 15. According to the Associated Press, the assault stems from a hazing ritual at the school known as "No Gay Thursday", where "gay" behaviors were considered "not gay". On this particular incident, an unnamed 14 year old varsity football player was allegedly held down by the three older players and penetrated with a broom handle.

"It just happened to be a perfect storm of this 'No Gay Thursday' tradition and them not liking this freshman and taking it out on him in a pretty horrible way," District Attorney Tom Hogan told the AP.

The report states that the three players will be charged as juveniles, with "assault, conspiracy, unlawful restraint, terroristic threats and other offenses" as the charges. The school's head football coach John Vogan has been suspended pending the result of the investigation.
