Throwback Thursday: The Stumble Fumble gives Vols a victory

We go all the way back to 1998 for this one when Arkansas came to Neyland Stadium and almost beat Tennessee. However, destiny was on the Vols' side that day as Razorback quarterback Clint Stoerner just had to hand the ball off and get a first down to secure the win. However, his offensive lineman stepped on his foot and rather than take the sack, he dropped the ball.

Tennessee defensive tackle Billy Ratliff pushed the opposing lineman into Stoerner and fell on the ensuing football with just under two minutes left in the game. Tennessee was trailing 24-22 at the time and ended up scoring to make it a final of 28-24. The play would forever be remembered as the "Stoerner Stumble" after UT play-by-play man John Ward called it as such as you can hear in the video.

Tennessee went on to win the BCS National Championship that year. The Vols are probably hoping they don't need a miracle this time around though.
