Top 20 five-star forward drops a sizzling top nine

This list is heavy on West Coast schools and for good reason.

Jarred Vanderbilt is a small forward who's probably not getting as much love as he deserves because of the attention Michael Porter Jr. and Kevin Knox are receiving right now. However, he's still a top 20 player in his own right and with Washington landing a commitment from Porter, whoever doesn't get Knox will get a really player in Vanderbilt.

The 6'8", 200-pound small forward can pound the rock and get to the rim almost at will. The No. 16 player in the country, according to 247Sports, is the No. 6 small forward in the class and the No. 4 player in the state of Texas. That means tons of offers and he's narrowing down his choices to nine schools with most of them coming from his home state and conference of the Big 12.

Kentucky will likely land Knox or the next best forward out there so landing a player of Vanderbilt's caliber would be huge for Shaka Smart at Texas or Roy Williams at UNC. UNC has had a little trouble recruiting the past couple seasons so getting the 2017 forward would give the Tar Heels some firepower they will desperately need by then.
