Top-50 recruit Mecole Hardman to visit Michigan on Ohio State weekend

A strong point of emphasis for Jim Harbaugh has been the ability to recruit effectively in the South. One interesting case study for that focus is 2016 athlete prospect Mecole Hardman, who previously indicated that he would use one of his official visits on the Michigan Wolverines. Hardman is a consensus four-star WR/CB from Elberton, Ga., and 247Sports is now reporting that he will be touching down in Ann Arbor on November 28.

The opponent on that Saturday? None other than the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Hardman, who stands at 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, ranks 40th nationally among players in the class of 2016 according to 247's composite rankings, and regardless of position, he is one of the best players in the country. At this juncture, it appears that Hardman favors the Georgia Bulldogs, who boast an in-state affiliation, but Michigan is the only non-SEC school (Auburn and Tennessee are hot on his trail) that seems to have a legitimate chance.

Harbaugh and his staff certainly won't put the brakes on in the South if they are unable to hook Mecole Hardman, but this pursuit could be an interesting benchmark, especially if things get off to a slow start on the field in September.
