NFL running back Trent Richardson is running out of people to blame for his failed pro career.
Richardson claims that his family and friends have spent a lot of his career earnings in a short amount of time, affecting his on-field performance. On E:60, Richardson recounted times where he would look to the stands where he had paid for friends and family to attend games and think about how much money it cost him.
"I'm thinking about this stuff in the game. I'm actually looking up at the box making sure everybody is in there," Richardson said, according to Pro Football Talk.
"You'd get calls, 'My car's going to get repo'd,'' he said. "So you'd give $10,000 this week away. Then someone calls and says 'I'm going to get evicted.' Another $10,000 goes out. It adds up."
Now that Richardson has been traded by the Browns and cut by the Colts, Raiders and, most recently, the Ravens, he likely won't have to worry about friends mooching off of his NFL paychecks. Those have likely stopped coming in.
Richardson hasn't seen any live game action since 2014 when he was a member of the Colts. He rushed for 2,032 yards for a paltry 3.3 yard per carry average and 17 touchdowns in his five-year career.
So much for that "yellow jacket" he hoped for in the future.
