Two of wrestling's biggest free agents made a surprise return to WWE at WrestleMania

WHAT?!

After leaving TNA Impact! earlier this year, Matt and Jeff Hardy parlayed a stint at Ring of Honor into a return to WWE at the biggest show of the year. The Hardyz were a surprise addition into the Raw tag team ladder match just one night after dropping the ROH tag titles in a ladder match against the Young Bucks. And somehow, Matt and Jeff stole the show:

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the Hardys were expected to stay with Ring of Honor through their April 1 show in Lakeland, Fla., and then the tag team was expected to head to WWE.

WrestleMania was a short drive away from their show in Florida Saturday night and the return has been long-anticipated.

The move had been rumored since September.

Jeff Hardy recently spoke with SI about a possible jump back to WWE (H/T Cageside Seats):

"For the people who really want to know where I'll be after February, it's just like what I said when I left [WWE]—this is only goodbye for now, this is not goodbye forever. As long as I'm healthy, there is always that chance I will return and have that one last run. For now, it's up in the air. Ultimately, that's my last dream match - with the Undertaker at the Hell in a Cell - so a lot of it depends on The Undertaker. If he's going to still do one match a year, I would really like to be part of a Hell in a Cell with him. But I don't know if he's going to wrestle again this year at WrestleMania, or if he's going to give it up. I was the world champion, but I never got to do a Hell in a Cell or main event a WrestleMania, but so much of it depends on The Undertaker."

With WWE in the past, Jeff is a former three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, four-time Intercontinental Champion, and seven-time WWE tag team champion. Matt is a former one-time WWE ECW Champion and a former eight-time WWE tag team champion.
